This traditional fountain was handcrafted by our talented “artisans,” who handpicked the design, materials, and colors to reflect the cultural diversity of Moroccan handicraft.

A mosaic fountain is a priceless emblem with a lengthy history and a rich culture, and it has been around since the Med Centuries. Every Moroccan home has a mosaic fountain. A tile fountain like this might also add a very distinctive Moroccan touch to your home decor.

Each fountain is entirely handcrafted by our skilled artisans, producing a stunning and one-of-a-kind mosaic fountain for every customer. so How are our fountains made?

The first step is to bring the “clay,” a natural ingredient that is only available in the area known as “Ben Jellik” in the city of Fes.
The huge clay pieces are left to dry for 20 days. When it is dried, we smash it into little bits with a large hammer before letting it dry again for an entire day before soaking it in water for a further two days.
Then comes the stage of cleaning, where a team works to clear the clay of undesired stones and other objects. Because it has a tight association with the sun, this form of action is unique to the Moroccan city of Fez.
The clay is then put for eight hours at 2000°C in the form of slabs in the oven. The very next step is to paint the items in the colors of the tables, walls, and fountains .
Following this phase, the products are painted with natural paints made from natural resources. Horse hair is used in the brushes. They utilize many colors, including black, red, and blue.
When they’re done, they cover the items with a substance that makes them shiny so they may be returned to the oven for eight hours to cook the burned wood before being used in our daily lives. The paint is tough and can be used with either cold or hot water.
The zellige is sent to “Nekkach” after the first firing and the second painting, who chooses the pattern to use based on where the zellige will be set. He spreads them by flipping them over in a geometric design inspired by historical places like Karaouiyn and the royal palaces….
Then we coat them in “resin” or “cola sima” and let them to dry. and then are ready to be used.
